Rayona Visqueen
Robin Worley

Rayona Visqueen is Robin Worley, a fine artist and fashion designer who presently makes her home in Northern California. Her first experience with trash fashion design was in 1986 as a model for Polly Ethylena. 8-8-88 was Rayona's first design gig, and she just never stopped. Her focus is one of community, and Rayona has produced many shows in many communities over the years. She conceived the fashion portions of such annual events as The Art of Trash in Hilo, Hawaii and the annual Recycled Art Show at The ReStore in Seattle. Rayona tours a mini show each summer when she can, with the New Old Time Chautauqua. She is looking to create more educational opportunities in the future. Robin currently serves as President to our Board of Directors.

Prima Debris
Kathi Griffis

Prima Debris has been involved with trash fashion since 1986. Her extensive background as a third generation seamstress was put to good use as she converted from needle and thread to duct tape and staples. Roadside debris often has her screeching to a stop on a narrow shoulder, to score some groovy piece of trash. Research never stops for Prima. Always testing new materials and keeping her designs on the cutting edge, she’s finding it hard to find time for a day job. Prima has produced dozens of shows since Haute Trash’s California “rebirth” in 2001. Roadtripping with Haute Trash is one of her favorite pastimes and she looks forward to branching out ever-farther. Kathi currently serves on our Board of Directors.

Elvira Mental Werks
Judy Nielsen and
Shaun Muscolo

Elvira and her dear friend, Mental, have a long standing history of artistic collaborations. But when Elvira moved from southern California to Nevada County in 1988, much of the wonderful werks came to a screeching halt. With Elvira's artistic notions and Mental's penchant for approaching her creative process with that of a fine-tuned engineer, the two can proclaim "Elvira Mental Werks"! Elvira has drawn Mental away from her conservative-ville lifestyle to become a trash fabricator, at least for a small portion of the year. If trash fashion can't bind old buddies together, what will? They hope your enjoyment of Haute Trash is enhanced as Judy and Shaun celebrate another year of friendship, artistic endeavors, and trash fashion. Judy currently serves as Secretary to our Board of Directors.

Wayward Girls
Productions
Mary Welch

When Mary answers the telephone with "What are you wearing?", even a few daring telemarketers have been forthcoming with certain details. She has the Catholic church to thank for her early interest in runway fashion. After perusing the architectural structure and lighting in the cathedral she looked forward to the communion procession. Starting with the hat and working down to the shoes of everyone passing by, she became quite the connoisseur of Detroit church wear. And yet somehow, this wasn't enough. Beginning in 1986 she has been designing everything from the divine to the ungodly. If not for Haute Trash, Mary would never have fully satisified her desire for adornment and recycling. She is currently living in Seattle and does design, sculpture and large scale installation. Wayward Girls Productions. Lift up your skirt and fly.

Redusa D'Trash
Cirrus Angelico

Redusa D'Trash was born at home in a humble 11-sided cabin made from recycled Campbell soup bins. You can safely say that she was born into the Haute Trash world. She first became intrigued by this art form in 1990, but it would be many years before this fantasy would come to fruition. Redusa's opportunity came in 2003 when veteran designers asked her to join them for "Some Like It Haute". Since then, she has gone on to become one of Haute Trash's major designers, touring with the ensemble to Seattle and the Oregon Country Fair, often with her lovely daughters (and Haute Trash models) in tow, Garbie and Litterbug. She is continually amazed at each designer's creativity to turn virtually nothing into something that will hopefully inspire you to stop and think. And think again. Cirrus currently serves on our Board of Directors.

Redeema Debris
Radiant Waste Productions
Katie Griffis

Redeema Debris has always said "hell no!" to mainstream trendy fashions. However, she's never been one to lose her share of the spotlight. Redeema grew up in the heart of the San Juan Ridge and like other NORMAL kids, she spent her childhoood thrashing through the creek beds or building tree forts with her friends. As far as her fashion sense goes, she never had much, being a tomboy for most of her early days. As she started high school, she was both shocked and appalled at some of the fashions flaunted by her young peers. Her mother, Prima Debris is to thank for Redeema's inspiration to introduce her own Haute Trash line. She believes that the best way to know yourself is to know your trash. Redeema finds no better way than to bring her trash from the bin and derive fashion for the skin. Now living in Bend, Oregon, she is another bright and shining Haute Trash satellite!

Toxic Blonde Productions
Aria Harding

Aria first stepped on to the Haute Trash stage during intermission in 1988, when she was 6 years old, wearing a little pink plastic tutu that her mom (Prima Debris) made for her. Surrounded by trash fashion in her formative years, it was only natural that she started her own design line in 2004, Toxic Blonde Productions. In between having two beautiful girls, she somehow found time to make fashion from her laundry lint and dryer sheets. Her daughter, Baylee is now a veteran model, representing the third generation! We are pleased to have Aria as the newest member of our Board of Directors.

Lotta Rubbish
Nic Griffin

Originally from Britain, Nic has created with trash since toddlerhood. After years of hoarding pretty discards in her San Francisco home, she began to dabble in Trashion with designs for the 2000 Burning Man Fashion Show, which she co-produced until 2005. Nic first met up with the Haute Trash troupe at the Burning Man Green Open House last year, and she went on to create a line of fashions for our "Big Idea" show. Watch for more future collaborations with San Francisco based designer, Lotta Rubbish!

Chicca Plastique
Soleil Smith-Normand

Soleil is one of Haute Trash's youngest designers. She's been a huge fan ever since she discovered it at the age of seven. She was instantly infatuated with it. Every spare minute she has when she's not doing algebra or dance, she throws into pounding bottle caps and taping together chocolate wrappers and the like.

Racey Garbaj
Rachel Garland

Racey Garbaj was born in Birmingham, Alabama and attended elementary school at a tin school for the gifted and impaired called EPIC. After that epic beginning, she did some time in Livonia, Michigan before freak circumstances landed her in North San Juan, California. A severe case of pack-rat-ism lent Racey a natural beginning as a Haute Trash designer. She joined the Haute Trash team in 2001 for a benefit show for the local Head Start preschool. One may note inspiration in Racey’s designs from extensive world travel and preschool teaching. Rachel recently received her teaching credential and she hopes to teach children to recognize beauty in themselves and others, express their creativity, and always reduce, reuse and recycle!

Miss T Ecosentric
Allyse Rastetter

Miss T Ecosentric was born and raised in San Francisco during the 80s. Always admiring and looking in store windows at the latest fashions, when she was growing up, whe would dress up her Barbies with outfits made from every day household trash. Throughout her whole life, she's saved little labels and bottle lids, knowing that some day she would need the saved, but not forgotten trash that was stored in shoe boxes under her bed. She later moved to the San Juan Ridge where she was introduced to the idea of Haute Trash. Allyse's huge smile and gracious personality attract people of all ages.
